We’re working with our partner, the Bone and Joint Health Strategic Clinical Network, to bring about transformational change for how Albertans with joint and muscle problems are assessed by care providers.
Challenge
Many people faced with joint and muscle problems are waiting for specialist care that is unnecessary. It’s impacting their recovery. It’s impacting specialist wait lists. Some aren’t able to find consistent treatment due to the wide variety of care offered in the province. The model of care in Alberta is contributing to fragmented service delivery. Instead of team-based care, the focus is on individual practitioners.
